Types/Positions of ad-slots
These are typical ad-slots integrated in a website:
top (first slot of the site, only one per site)
vertical (almost only on the right side and only one, not in the content but right of it, )
content (as the name says, the slot is placed in the main content. Depending on the length, there can be integrated a few ad-slots)
footer (last slot of the site, only one)
custom (special slots, to be defined)
Each type supports a range of sizes that can be used.
Description:
top is the first ad slot on the page.
verticals are skyscrapers in the most cases which are ad slots on the right-hand side of the page. These slots should be sticky for good viewability rates.
contents are all ad slots within the content.
footer ad slot for overlay creatives. One footer ad slot is recommended to be integrated on each site.
